Is Finding Me worth reading?

2 people we track recommend it. It is best for: an aspiring stage or film actor who is between formal training and trying to land paid roles, wanting concrete models of persistence and audition behavior — useful now because the memoir offers scene-level rehearsal and audition anecdotes you can mimic when planning next auditions and early-career tradeoffs; a high-school drama teacher building a unit on real-life career paths for students from limited means, needing frank classroom material about obstacles and practical rehearsal habits — fits now because the book supplies classroom-discussable stories about auditions, rehearsals, and coping with scarce resources; a daily audiobook commuter (30–90 minute round-trip) who prefers first-person, narrator-read memoirs and wants something to listen to in chunks — useful now because the author's narration and episodic structure make it easy to follow across multiple commutes without losing the thread. It may not suit: you'll likely put it down when long childhood or trauma scenes linger without clear narrative payoff — the opening life-history can feel heavy and unrelenting; annoying if you prefer tight editing and fewer theatrical digressions; the book circles certain moments multiple times; not for someone wanting practical how-to takeaways or exercises — no hands-on exercises or step-by-step guidance.
